Questions

Before you pick up the phone

Short answers. For yours, book the free call.

What does the free call cover?

Twenty minutes to hear about the project, look at the main terms and tell you what I'd look at. It isn't a full review, and it doesn't make us lawyer and client.

How do you charge?

Reviews and drafts are a flat fee quoted in writing before any work starts. If a job can't be scoped, I'll say so and quote an hourly rate. Filing and registration fees are separate.

Can you look at a contract I already signed?

Yes. Many agreements can be clarified, amended or ended, and some have deadlines. Bring the signed copy.

Are you my manager or agent?

No. I don't find work, book shows or take a cut of your deals. I'm your lawyer.

Do you take on the other side?

I act for artists, writers, filmmakers and creators. I don't act for labels, studios or platforms.

Can I send the contract through the form?

Please don't. The website form isn't the place for confidential documents. Tell me about the project, and I'll say how to send the rest.

Do you take Saturday appointments?

Saturday calls run from 10am to 2pm by appointment, in person or by video.

Do you work outside California?

Contracts are often signed in one place and enforced in another. I'll tell you if a matter needs a lawyer in another state, and refer you.
